We're coming off of a 3-day weekend here in Germany, and have just celebrated the 3rd birthday of our little one (complete with what I called the "train wreck" cake -- have you EVER seen a cake so lumpy and crooked? This is not brutal self criticism here, this was an actual concern for the health and safety of the children at the party). I guess I'm just a little sensitive after setting my camera strap in a candle last Christmas.
Apparently, cutting a 9x13" cake in half the long way to be train track is too challenging for me. It's not the angle of the picture, the cake actually was about 30% lower on one side of the plate than the other.
This photograph is actual proof that you can make ANYTHING look romantic and decent if you have a good enough camera and rudimentary photographic skills. Thank heavens for that!
Going to take a few days to get back into the swing of things here. Lots coming up, please stay tuned and keep on creating..!
Beautiful cake. Lars is a lucky kid to have you attempt this. I think it looks fabulous and tasty. Rachel & I will be there with forks in a skinny second! We are chocolate dawgs!

Gee, TJ! When I got to your blog, that adorable train stopped me in my tracks! :-)
Honey, as a chocolate lover, I don't care about uneven. Just put a piece on my plate...
