In the middle of all the usual Holiday stress and madness, I got my artwork done for the upcoming exhibition at the Red Gate Gallery. (Go see the cool postcard for the show on their website. I'm the last little thumbnail on the bottom right).
Although I would do it differently if I tackled this again, I am still pleased with the outcome. Just like when I got the world's biggest cupboard, this is yet another example of why I really should learn the metric system. 60x60 was a huge area to cover by my standards. This thing took hours. And hours. And it was a new challenge for me to work on something in a square format. That may sound strange, but it really threw me.
So here is a little visual peek of the completed project, as well as an action shot. It will be revealed in it's entirety January 15!!
A big thank you to Dr. Anita for helping me draft my artist's statement, to the Governor for saving me from a trip to the copy shop in a snowstorm, the 1st lady for all her serious consideration and thoughts during it's many stages and the dear Hubby who stayed up late to help me make on-line German supply orders as well as getting up early to run to the art store for last minute stuff. I love you guys!!
I wish I had an art room like yours. I wish so much that I am going to put it on my Santa list right now.
If that fails, I will come to Germany just to hang out in your studio.
