Oh dear, this post takes me back to my school days when I was taking German language class and I remember struggling with rules and more rules that I had to learn but never really got the hung of it, it just seemed so damn hard. Mind you, I can still remember some of my German and if I had to I think I could just about manage to survive in Germany without any English but oh boy those damn umlauts and those rules about die, der, das etc. still bring me out in cold sweat :)

He, he... the magical two dots that change the sound... yeah. Must be a real pain, huh? My friends from abroad had the biggest issues with the ß. Asking me, What's a Strabe? And I couldn't for the life of me figure out what they meant.

Besides that: I just love your artwork. Never thought the Umlaut could be something so beautiful.... xx

My maiden name was originally supposed to have an umlaut in it because my father's family came here from Mannheim. I can't even imagine dealing with people trying to tell you how to spell your name!
